Souper Bowl of Caring 2011
Are you ready for an opportunity to feed the hungry in Charlotte through the Williams Memorial Food Pantry? We begin receiving donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring in January 2011. Thanks to the youth of Williams Memorial we've participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring for 8 years in a row! This is a Souper way to gather food donations for our food pantry while the NFL playoffs are going on. The final collection day will be Super Bowl Sunday. WMPC welcomes and responds to a steady stream of requests for food. Let's score a touchdown against hunger!!! Donations can be dropped off at our church office between 8:30 and noon M -F. Or come and worship with us and bring your donation too! Clothes Closet
Part of our Feed My Sheep ministry the clothes closet is open the first Saturday of every month from 8-11am. For urgent needs please call our office at 704 392 8816. We have men's, women's and children's clothes and shoes and various household items as donated. Come and help us sort, fold, hang, organize and meet our neighbors in the Beatties Ford Road community. 4 Sundays a year in the afternoon in the Fellowship Hall kitchen, members of Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church and other local churches prepare sandwiches for our neighbors at Urban Ministries. In less than an hour together we make 800 sandwiches. See our calendar for the next Sandwich Making Sunday. |
